First o ff, we’re really proud of everyone involv ed.
Over 1,200 meals a week a re delivered by volunteers to the vulnerab le, homeless and the NHS front li ne staff. From the great people skil ls of the back room volunteers, t he cheery cycle volunteers and Andy of 659 Ta xi Services that get the food o ut to the people that need it a nd of course to the talented restauran ts, cafes and bakeries that produce hi gh numbers of top quality, tasty, nutritio us food week in, week out. A nd non of this would be possib le without your support. Not just financial ly on the gofundme page, but yo ur kind supportive words that keep us a ll going. And talking of donations, t he incredible amount of produce we ha ve received from suppliers, farmers and oth er like minded organisations have really help ed us get some incredible meals o ut to people within a tight budg et.
It’s hard to share feedback fr om the people that receive our he lp, as the kind words are oft en written within sensitive emails. Some heartbreaki ng, some heart warming, but everyone h as a different story to tell as to w hy they have needed your help.

O ne last important point, since day o ne of this project, I haven’t h ad to ask anyone for help. EVERYO NE has contacted me privately and genuine ly to help the cause.

First weekend done working as a pop- up takeaway delivery service, a huge than ks to 659 Taxi Service York f or belting our deliveries to our custome rs! And a massive thank Stu a nd Lynds from The Knavesmire pub f or letting us use their culinary laborato ry! We sold out intentionally a litt le early tonight, we saved a bun ch of pizzas & chips to co ok up for the COVID ward sta ff at York Hospital, we’ll plan to do th is every night from here on o ut. If anyone knows any nurses/docs/staff worki ng on that ward please tell th em to get in touch with us / t ag them and we’ll get in tou ch.

My mum got a taxi this morni ng from Cornlands road to the Cov id vaccination centre and a man pick ed her up in a silver mondeo.
