🚖💛 A little behind-the-scenes honesty from Alpha Cars Salisbury… 💛🚖
Firstly, we’d just like to say a huge thank you to all of our customers for your continued patience and support 💛
Behind the scenes, Alpha Cars has been busier than ever. With the launch of two brand new branches this year — Newbury and Salisbury — alongside growing demand across the business, things have been moving incredibly fast 🚖💨
Like many businesses, we’ve also faced challenges including driver shortages, increased demand and a much heavier workload across our teams. But despite this, one thing hasn’t changed:
Our commitment to providing the very best service possible to every customer.
Yesterday tested that more than ever.
As many of you may already know, unfortunately a tree fell across the train tracks, causing major disruption and huge delays along the London–Salisbury route 🚆🌳
While the biggest impact was felt at our Basingstoke office, the knock-on effect spread right across the Alpha network.
We’d also like to say a quick sorry to any Salisbury customers who may have experienced slightly longer waits than usual yesterday 💛
Whilst helping support the huge and unexpected demand caused by the train disruption, we truly appreciated your patience and understanding.
From around 3PM–7PM, our Basingstoke office dealt with hours of non-stop bookings, walk-ins and phone calls, helping stranded passengers safely get where they needed to be.
And here in Salisbury, we supported wherever we could too 🚖💛
Whether that meant helping with bookings, sending drivers where they were needed or supporting neighbouring branches — everyone pulled together to help as many people as possible continue their journeys safely.
And what a mix of journeys it was… ✈️🚖
People trying to catch flights.
Families desperate to get home.
Loved ones trying to reunite.
Customers travelling across the country.
People from all walks of life, all ages, cultures and languages — all suddenly needing help at once.
But something incredible happened…
Instead of frustration, there was kindness 💛
Passengers helping passengers.
People offering to share journeys and split costs to help others get home.
Customers being patient, understanding and genuinely looking out for one another.
One moment that stood out to us was a lovely Zimbabwean family, who had only recently moved to the area and had absolutely no idea what chaos was unfolding around them. They simply needed a local journey and suddenly found themselves caught up in complete disruption.
One of our management team members in Basingstoke even stepped away from office duties out of hours to personally help get them home safely 🚖💛
They were incredibly grateful, relieved and happy — and moments like that are exactly why we do what we do.
A huge shoutout to our incredible Basingstoke office team, who absolutely smashed it under pressure 👏
One of their newest team members completely BOSSED the walk-ins, while the dispatcher somehow kept every single journey organised and moving safely, even with drivers travelling miles out of town 👏🚖
Something we’re especially proud of…
In moments like this, when transport suddenly becomes essential, we believe people shouldn’t be penalised for simply trying to get home safely.
So while demand was incredibly high, our focus stayed exactly the same — fair, reliable transport and helping people get where they needed to be safely. Because doing right by customers will always matter more to us than taking advantage of difficult situations 💛
🚖 We may be new to Salisbury… but showing up for our customers will never be new to us.
Your ride, our priority. Always.
