A FORMER player turned multi-million-pound recently attended The King’s Trust 50th Anniversary Garden Party, held in Buckingham Palace Gardens.

A proud moment for Jamie, and for everyone at Today Team.

Last week, our founder and Managing Director Jamie Boyd was invited to The King's Trust 50th Anniversary Garden Party at Buckingham Palace Gardens.

The event also came as Today Team celebrates 21 years in business, so for Jamie, it was a real full-circle moment.

Back in 2005, after a knee injury ended his professional rugby career, Jamie stood in front of The King’s Trust panel in Chester as a 24-year-old, asking for a £3,000 loan to lease a van and start a courier business.

That first van became Today Team. 🚚

Twenty-one years later, the business has grown into a multi-million-pound logistics company, completing two major acquisitions in recent years and continuing to support businesses across the UK with same day courier services and time-critical logistics.

Jamie continues to support The King’s Trust as an ambassador, mentoring and speaking to young people who are taking their own first steps into business.

As Jamie said:

“It’s a brilliant organisation that gives people the confidence and support to take that first step, and I’ll be forever grateful for the help it gave me to take mine.”

From one van to Buckingham Palace, it has been quite a journey.

But more importantly, the same values remain at the heart of Today Team: hard work, resilience, trusted relationships and getting things done properly.

On Friday 8th May, Mayor of Warrington, Cllr Mo Hussain, held a Fundraising Evening in support of his chosen charities:

Warrington Disability Partnership
St. Rocco's Hospice
Room at the Inn
Warrington Youth Zone

Guests were treated to evening of outstanding entertainment and delicious food.

We were proud to sponsor the event, and while our MD Jamie Boyd was unable to attend, he shared his support:

"Unfortunately I wasn’t able to attend the fundraiser this year, but I’m proud we were able to support the event through Today Team's sponsorship. The Mayor chose four fantastic local charities, and I'm sure the fundraiser will go a long way in helping them to continue the essential work they do in the community."
