It's been a bit quiet here recently due to having an air system problem, but I'm pleased to report that the issue has now been addressed and, fingers crossed, resolved.
The bus had an air leak and was extremely slow to build up air pressure which I traced back to the unloader valve which helps to regulate air pressure. Despite contacting numerous industry experts I was unable to source a replacement valve or a rebuild kit. Things weren't looking particularly good and I was struggling to see a way out of this problem.
Upon looking through the small mountain of spares/scrap old parts that my father obtained/failed to dispose of I found what I believed to be the correct valve. Having sat around in the outdoors for in excess of 10 years the condition of the valve was unknown to say the least. Earlier today the valve was fitted to the bus with the help of my delightful assistant, and soon to be wife, Carrie. I'm pleased to say that initial results seem to be positive, however the needles in the air pressure gauge appeared to be getting stuck, so the gauge is currently removed from the bus and being stripped on the kitchen worktop in an attempt to get it to work properly again.
Fingers crossed for a test run next weekend.
