Some sad news at Taxi Tour HQ today. Phoenix has failed his MOT. Not entirely surprising given his age and the rigours of the epic journey, but sad nonetheless. If anyone is a dab hand with a welder and would like to buy a Taxi with a fantastic engine, running gear and a big heart then give us a shout.

A nice slow day today with only 31 miles covered. Didn't even set off from camp until this afternoon, taking full advantage of the laundry facilities, and lazily eating bacon sandwiches washed down with brews. We find ourselves in Saint Agnes tonight, after savouring the sights, smells, sounds and flavours of Healey's Cornish Cyder Farm. Little clue as to what we picked up in the picture if you can spot it. Aiming for our target tomorrow, after a spot or two of sightseeing that is.

Medium mileage day yesterday, taking on the relentless length that is the A30 after sacking off the caves at Wookey Hole. We hit Cornwall and, unlike Dorset, Cornwall didn't hit us! Found ourselves a spec between Liskeard and Saint Austell with a sea view (trust me, there definitely is one; zoom in!), then swiftly decamped to one of the best pubs we've found on our trip. Also, the eagle eyed amongst you may notice Phoenix has had some minor cosmetic surgery, gaffer tape is a marvellous thing!

Sketchy reception last night means late update, but at the barmaid said last night, reception is slower down a hole. Short day yesterday, a chance for Phoenix to give his wheels a rest, and a chance for us to exercise our legs, as we took in the sights of Bath in the morning and proceeded to Chewbacca's A**s in the afternoon, sorry I mean Wookey Hole. It was while entering the hole that a local decided to reverse into Phoenix and bruise his pretty face!! Gutted is not even close. Luckily all seems to be fine apart from a wrecked bonnet and grille, so hopefully this will be the first and last of this type of thing. We found a great campsite that we have virtually to ourselves and will be going to the caves this morning before deciding where is next.

Less than celubrious surroundings tonight for a less than celubrious day today. Every road trip has a hump day and today was it. Set off from south lakes this morning with a quick pit stop in Southport to pick up more kit, then took on the joy that is the M6 and the M5 to get south and have a few more days of fun. Highlights were racing a Lamborghini (well being overtaken by is a kind of racing), and great sunshine for most of the journey. Tomorrow should now see us in Cornwall, making the hump day well worth it.

Big day today. From the foot of Ben Nevis we now find ourselves in the South Lakes. Awesome start to the journey through great Highlands, Glen Coe, Loch Lomond and the Trossachs then Motorway (booooo) to get back to England. One good thing about the motorway is we've found that phoenix's Speedo goes up to 85mph (for any fans that are police people I'm not sure how fast we were actually going, but it must have been well within the legal limit).
Currently taking advantage of free WiFi in a pub close to our yurt. Oh yeah, we're staying in a yurt didn't I mention? A yurt. Hopefully we'll find some more wifis tomorrow for another update.
