Exciting times! New stops on the E16 Oban - Glasgow route!

We're very pleased to announce that from today all our registered stops on the E16 become active. Other than Oban Bus Station, all stops are served by pre-booking only. It's easy (I promise!) to do this on ember.to, but if you need some help just reach out. It's also cheaper than the on-board charges, and if you have an NEC, completely free to do!

Stops now available, in addition to Glasgow Bus Station, Tyndrum, Tarbet, Dumbarton, Glasgow Airport and Paisley, include:

Dunbeg Road End, on the A85.
Connel, at the Bridge Junction.
Taynuilt, on the A85 at the war memorial crossroads.
Bridge of Awe, at the fuel station.
Lochawe village, at both the St Conans Kirk stop, and at the Ben Cruachan Inn/Village Stores/Rail station road end area.
Dalmally, by the old Police Station
Inverarnan, at the flagged stop by the Drover's Inn
Ardlui, near the postbox southbound, or opposite the hotel northbound
Inveruglas, just the Sloy power station side of the car and coach park
Inverbeg, Luss, Duck Bay & Balloch: all the marked stops on the A82
(and a few other stops as well)

See on board soon!

⚡️🚌 Ember are hiring drivers in Oban! 🚌 ⚡️

We already connect Oban with Glasgow, Fort William and Inverness, and a direct route to Edinburgh is up next.

If you’re keen to progress your career in intercity coach driving, and would like to drive our state of the art 2025 and 2026 plate electric coaches, then we'd love to hear from you.

With a local starting pay rate of £16.50 per hour and a guaranteed increase to at least £17.30 per hour once you've been with the team for a year, there are also regular opportunities for overtime.

We offer 40 guaranteed hours each week so that Ember's drivers know their established take home pay (even if they are scheduled for fewer hours), and we are also happy to adjust the guaranteed hours for any drivers who would like the confidence of guaranteed work alongside the flexibility of working part-time.

Ember offer flexible annual leave bookings - meaning that drivers can choose and request their own holidays, meaning flexibility for that all-important downtime.

Even if you’re not a driver but you know someone who might be interested, please tag them below.

Not an April fools, I promise! We have new, served through pre-booking only, stops for you!

From today, 1st April you can now take the E14 service to Inverness from any of the stops we’ve been permitted to serve on the way. To name a few: Dunbeg, Connel, Barcaldine, Appin, Duror, Kentallen, Ballachish Hotel and North Ballachullish (sorry, not Balla village) Fort Augustus, Invergarry, Torlundy and Urquart Castle.

Remember, all these stops are in the Highland £2 fare trial area, and we accept the Scottish NEC for those entitled to completely free travel.

*To get us to stop to pick you up, the journey must be booked on our website, ember.to at least ten minutes before the scheduled departure time, including all concessions.*

There is a wheelchair space, we take bicycles, we take dogs (and other house-pets) and everyone gets a seat for the journey, with a USB charging socket for each seat, and a toilet on almost every coach.

See you onboard soon!

Dunbeg - I know how disappointed you’ll be, but it’s the A85 stop for you guys.

⚡️🚌 £2 Fare Cap Trial in the Highlands region 🚌 ⚡️

Ember can confirm that we will be taking part in the fare cap trial which will start tomorrow, 23 March 2026.

At a top line level, the scheme works as follows:
- Any journey entirely within the Highlands region will be capped at £2, whether that's a journey of a few stops or a longer journey such as a trip from Inverness to Oban
- Any journey that crosses the boundary into another region will be capped at £2 for the section of the journey *within* the Highlands region, and then charged at Ember's usual rates for the remainder of the journey that falls *outside* the Highlands region
- The qualifying region is Highland, Moray and Argyll & Bute
- The trial is expected to last for one year
- Adult tickets and child tickets both qualify for this discount, while concessionary card holders will continue to travel for free as normal, with no hidden booking fees
- No operator can sell qualifying £2 tickets before the scheme starts, even if travel is for a date on or after 23 March, so please check back in at www.ember.to from the morning of 23 March to book these tickets

I’m going to be parked on George Street most of the day. Feel free to come by and say hi!

I’ll chat with you about how to book our services, where to find information, or show you around the vehicle.

You can find out if your mobility scooter fits, and how we board you, or where we put bikes and if we’ll carry your one.

It’s also a good place to shelter from the rain! 😁
