Any professional transporter must hold a DEFRA licence. At Foxhill, we’re fully DEFRA Type 1 certified, which means we’re authorised to transport horses on journeys up to 8 hours in length - and always with welfare as the top priority. You can ask to see this before your horse gets on the box.

✅ Certificate of Competence
Your transporter should be qualified to handle horses safely in transit. We hold a Level 3 Certificate of Competence, so you know your horse is in experienced, capable hands. Again, you can ask to see this - and any above board transporter won't say no to showing you.

Always ask for proof of insurance. If something goes wrong, you need to know you’re covered - for both peace of mind and legal protection.
