Just had a last breakfast with Bill at Warwick Avenue Cabmen’s Shelter this morning and also presented him with a little gift I had done for him. Bill has worked in both The Bell & Horns and Warwick Avenue Shelters during his time. Enjoy your retirement Bill all the best 👍

Today is International Taxi Drivers Day, so we salute all Taxi drivers in cities across the world.
Thanks for providing a safe, reliable service.
The day commemorates March 22, 1907, when the first cabs equipped with meters (Taximeters) began operating in London.

Morning all.
Bit of an unusual request and very late notice but one maybe a Millwall FC fan might be up for.
Sean Daly community hub CEO has just asked if I know of.any drivers who might be available to drive their youngsters to Coventry City tomorrow morning for their lunchtime match, it's a 15 seater minibus btw, from 7.30am collection and finishing at 3pm.
Let me know if anyone fancies it and I will put you in touch.

At the City of London (CoL) Crime Prevention Association & Our Safer City event at Guildhall earlier today.
The Taxi Marshals (WCHCD) at Liverpool Street Station were given a special mention in the CoL Crime Prevention Association Chairman Don Randall MBE opening speech for their work in helping create a safer environment for Women & Girls travelling home late at night.
Footfall is now higher than in previous years, with over 38,000 journeys since the inception of the scheme and the Marshals being in place, and it was stated by Don that women and girls in the CoL are now walking specifically to Liverpool Street to get a London Taxi, knowing that this safe initiative is in place late at night, Thurs, Fri & Sat 9pm-1am.
Representatives from CoL Police were also present at the event.
