Linked to our own post, here's a great example of Kent's history remembered over 40 years on

(20 July)
British Airways Concorde (G-BOAF) first flight from Manston to Gatwick, piloted by Captain H Linfield, SFO B.R.Oliver co-pilot, SEO P.E.Eggington flight engineer, airborne for 37 minutes.

Earlier that day, Concorde had flown a 1 hour 40 minute supersonic ‘Round the Bay’ flight, and this Manston-Gatwick flight was a subsonic circa 40 minute Concorde Experience (she flew two similar flights out of Gatwick the following day before returning to Heathrow). Thanks for the secondary details and following quote from Jan Knott of Goodwood Travel Ltd.

"We continued to charter Concorde to Manston twice a year until spring 2000. On most of these occasions there were supersonic LHR-MSE and MSE-LHR flights, either side of two subsonic MSE-MSE flights. I estimate that in excess of 12,000 people flew Concorde in and/or out of Manston in that time."
