Nova Scotia RCMP recently completed a province-wide traffic enforcement campaign, checking more than 6,400 vehicles and setting up 99 checkpoints. The results are alarming: **29 impaired driving charges** and **12 roadside suspensions for alcohol or drug impairment** were issued in just one week.

At the same time, police continue to respond to crashes involving impaired drivers. This week, a driver was arrested after a serious single-vehicle crash in Beaver Bank that left both the driver and passenger with serious injuries. Investigators believe impairment was a factor.
