For many of us, September marks the start of Spring.

But Aṉangu, the traditional landowners of Uluṟu-Kata Tjuṯa National Park, actually recognise five seasons.

Right now, we are in Piriyakutu/piriya piriya. Piriya is the name of the warm, steady wind that arrives from the north and west at this time of year.

The warmer weather wakes up the desert. Reptiles become more active, animals start to breed, and plants begin to bloom, fruit and seed.

It's a great time to visit, and mornings are still cool for getting out and about!

Winter in Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park is something else. This year we’re loving the desert wildlflowers, beautiful skies, and even the unexpected rain.

There’s still time to get here and see it for yourself.

Thank you to everyone for their understanding.
