T6 Lidcombe & Bankstown Line Birrong and Yagoona used to have 2 train lines to Central in 2013 but now 0 in 2024. The Only Sydney Commuters with NO Train to Central/Sydney CBD.

Restore direct Bankstown to City via Regents Park
(Inner West Line)

Both stations previously had 2 direct lines (via Inner West and via Bankstown) to City Circle, but from mid-2024 will have NO TRAINS whatsoever to Central. Restori

ng the Bankstown to City via Regents Park service on the Inner West Line would enable direct trains from the West of Bankstown, but Transport for NSW refuses to bring back our direct train (removed in 2013). Capacity exists on the Sydney Trains Network for 4 trains per hour from Bankstown to City via Regents Park (on the Inner West Line). The direct train between Liverpool and Bankstown has also been removed in the 2024 timetable despite capacity for at least 4 trains per hour.

Sydney Metro's "integrated" Bankstown interchange with the divided West Bankstown Train Station and the East Bankstown Metro Station is breach of its own design standards.

Sydney Metro requires that all public areas and facilities are comfortable including being "protected with weather protection form rain, sun, and wind while boarding/alighting, waiting for service, accessing ticketing, information or services and INTERCHANGING".

Bankstown to City via Lidcombe (and 8 carriages) during trackwork on T3 Line.

This route should be restored as with a regular 4 trains per hour service using available capacity on the Inner West Line east of Lidcombe.

Welcome to East Bankstown Metro Station and West Bankstown Train Station. Once Metro Southwest opens, commuters will need to tap on and tap off to interchange between Metro and Train.

The Sydenham to Bankstown Alliance (SBA) is disappointed that Sydney Metro, Transport for NSW, and City of Canterbury Bankstown refuses to provide adequate shelter for commuters interchanging between Metro and Train. We call on Transport Minister John Graham, Jihad Dib MP, and Mayor Bilal El-Hayek - City of Canterbury Bankstown to fund construction of a continuous awning linking entrances of the East Bankstown Metro Station and the West Bankstown Train Station.

The provision of Sydney Trains in the West of Bankstown remains an issue with the NSW Future Transport Strategy indicating the removal of the T6 Lidcombe & Bankstown Line. The Sydenham to Bankstown Alliance (SBA) calls on the NSW Government to restore direct trains from Bankstown to Liverpool via Sefton and also from Bankstown to City via Strathfield.

Sunday 12th October, 1pm Meet in Central Park, Botanica and march to Coleman Park - Rally HANDS OFF Carnarvon.
Tuesday 14th October, 8am - 10am, outside the NSW Parliament - picket the politicians - Tell them Hands Off Our Sport & Recreation Spaces, No New Cemetery.
There has been an update on the Petitions, we now have 7,900 signatures, help us over the 10,000 needed.
The Battler is proud to say we have handed in 590 signatures to date and we aim to collect 1,000 of those needed.

Metropolitan Memorial Parks is currently running a survey about future burial needs, including the proposal to convert part of Carnarvon Golf Course into a memorial park.
