This was a review we got late last night as Derek was in the middle of grabbing something for dinner and found some stranded visitors in the shire.

After wrapping up our rafting adventure in the Daintree Rainforest, we were dropped off at the Wildlife Habitat pickup point. It was nearly 6 PM, and we spent half an hour struggling to book a Uber—even selecting the XL option—with no luck finding a driver near Port Douglas willing to take us to Cairns City. Our group felt completely helpless. We tried flagging down private vehicles, but every driver we approached was heading toward Port Douglas, not away from it.

Sitting in a nearby supermarket, having already asked several people for help, a RodgersRides team member suddenly appeared. After unsuccessfully trying to assist us with the ride-hailing app, he generously offered to drive us back to the city himself at a very reasonable fee. He ensured we received a detailed receipt after we completed payment before the beginning, demonstrating great professionalism. Impressively, he navigated the route flawlessly without needing a GPS, sharing helpful tips about traveling in Cairns along the way. His warmth and hospitality made the journey feel like a chat with a local friend.

We cannot thank him enough for his kindness—we genuinely don’t know how we would have resolved the situation otherwise.
